Monday 3/16
Math 6: Khan Academy videos and exercises on finding the greatest common factor (GCF)
Math 7: Khan Academy videos and exercises on combining like terms and simplifying algebraic expressions
Math 8: Khan Academy videos and exercises on solving algebraic equations

Each student (grades 6 - 8) also needs to complete a minimum of one lesson on Dreambox.

ELA 6: Read "Fish Cheeks" on commonlit.org and answer the questions that follow - see Google Classroom
ELA 7:  vocabulary unit 7 definitions - see instructions in Google Classroom

Tuesday 3/17 - Happy St. Patick's Day!

Wednesday 3/18

All students in grades 6 - 8 are required to complete at least one lesson in Dreambox per day.  There are long-term assignments posted for each class.  These must be completed daily before you go on to a different lesson.  You will recognize the assignment by the blue calendar icon in the corner of the game.

Math 6: Khan Academy videos and practice questions on finding the least common multiple (LCM)  of two or more numbers

Math 7: Khan Academy video and two sets of practice questions on simplifying expressions and combining like terms using negative coefficients, rational numbers, and distribution

Math 8: Khan Academy video and set of practice questions on solving equations with variables on both sides which contain fractions and decimals

ELA 6: Read "Summer with Papaji" on commonlit.org and answer questions that follow, then answer discussion questions in a separate Google doc (see Google Classroom)

ELA 7: Read "After Twenty Years" on commonlit.org and answer the questions on the site, then answer discussion questions in a separate Google doc (see Google Classroom)

Thursday 3/19

Each student needs to complete at least one lesson on Dreambox per day.  Complete a lesson in the assignment first before moving on to a different game.

Math 6: Khan Academy - there are two review articles to read, one video, and an exercise set for solving GCF and LCM word problems; review division with decimals so you can complete an exercise tomorrow

Math 7: Khan Academy - two videos and one exercise set using the distributive property, variables, and negative numbers

Math 8: Khan Academy - two videso and two exercise sets about solving equations with variables on both sides (using parenthesis, decimals, fractions, and variables in the denominator)

ELA 6: Write an essay about the concept of family.  Instructions on Google Classroom.

ELA 7:  View the short film "After Twenty Years", then answer questions about the short story and the film.  Instructions on Google Classroom.

Friday 3/20
Math 6: Khan Academy video, article, and exercise about negative numbers

Math 7: Khan Academy video and exercise about creating equivalent expressions using negative numbers and the distributive property

Math 8: Khan Academy videos and exercise about the number of solutions to a linear equation

Each student needs to complete at least 5 Dreambox lessons per week and a total of 60 minutes.  If you have not done that yet, you need to complete that before the end of the day on Saturday.

ELA 6: Read chapter 3 of A Wrinkle in Time, then follow the instructions on Google Classroom for the writing you need to do.

ELA 7: Watch a brief video on Discovery Education, then read a short article on Readworks.  Instructions on Google Classroom.
