*Please send your child's folder back to school along with their clean sheet .
Please note: Any food, snack or drink coming to school must be in a type of bag, lunch box or zip lock baggie with your child's name on it.
Continue helping your child practice writing his/her first and last name. Continue practicing all the skills they have learned so far. Many activities are posted on this pages along with Seesaw activities.
✏️Important Dates to Remember✏️
** "Seesaw" information went home on 10/21/22, Please look in your child's folder/bookbag for the "Seesaw" paper with your child's code on it. Please sign up for this ASAP. It is a fun and educational platform for your child to practice various concepts that are taught in class. This is optional.
- Please Note: Children may start to arrive to school at 8:20 .. enter in the school driveway.
-Our day begins at 8:30.
-Our class dismisses from the school playground at 2:50pm SHARP!

Focus Questions to discuss with your child:
Week 1: What do human babies need?
Week 2: What can we learn about animal babies?

Vocabulary to discuss with your child:
Week 1: baby, bassinet, bottle, born, car seat, crib, cuddle, diaper, gentle, rattle
Week 2: calf, duckling, tadpole, veterinarian
Week 3: zoologist, outgrow
Week 4: babble, big, change, coo, crawl, grow, size, tiny, toddler, walk

Family Engagement:
Week 1: Together as a family look at baby pictures together and discuss all the happy and fun times. Send in a baby picture to school.
Week 2: Draw or paint some baby animals that you see at the zoo.
Week 3: Go to the park and see if you spot any baby animals.
Week 4: Discuss all the important milestones in your child's life. Pick your favorite one and draw it on paper, send it into school.
Letter of the week: Letter Yy for young. Help your child write this letter and help them sound out its sound. Review all letters at this point
Math: Have your child draw a group of 3 and then a group of 4. Have him/ her write the number that tells how many there are altogether.
SEPTEMBER 2022
Pre-K is an exciting and busy time. It is a time to make new friends and learn new things such as literacy, science, math, art, social studies etc.. There will be lots of firsts, for example - leaving mommy and daddy all day, eating lunch in school, daily music and movement and so much more! It is a big adjusment for students and parents alike, but we will get through it together!
By June, we will be able to say we've worked, played, made new friends, and stayed safe along the way!
I am looking forward to working with you and your child in a child- centered, safe and fun-filled enviroment.The students will be encouraged to learn and grow through play and various activities which will help them develop cognitively, emotionally and socially.
If at any time during the school year you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. You can be assured that we will work closely with you and your child to assure a good, positive and safe experiance at St. Brendan School.
ITEMS YOUR CHILD NEEDS FOR SCHOOL ASAP:
-2 sets of extra clothes labeled with your child's name in a clear zip lock bag, include underware, socks, shirt, and pull on pants.
-A labeled CRIB sheet for nap/resting mat.
-A labeled REGULAR size backpack, no mini or extra small backpacks.
-2 labeled folders.
-A healthy lunch in a SOFT labeled lunch box, if your child will not eat the school lunch.
-A family photo no larger then 4x6.
-2 blue cards and any important papers from the office/teacher that must be filled out.
Please DO NOT send your child to school with ANY of the following:
-Overalls or pants with buckels, buttons, belts
-Costume play jewelry or jewelry of any kind!
-Dangle earrings/post only
-Sandals or open toed shoes/sneakers work the best!
-Toys of any kind from home
-Candy/gum
-Electronics
IMPORTANT!
-PLEASE INFORM US ASAP IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY ALLERGIES OR ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS!
-PLEASE INFORM US OF WHO IS PICKING UP YOUR CHILD AT DISMISSAL! THEY MUST HAVE ID ON THEM!
-DONATIONS NEEDED: Our classroom can use tissue boxes, plasic clear gallon ziplock bags, paper plates, Pampers baby wipes, plastic forks/spoons, paper towels and napkins. We also enjoy plants in our classroom as well!
-Please remind your children daily about the importance of washing their hands with soap and water and how to use hand sanitizer. Practice this at home.
-Remind your chlidren to always tell their teachers if they have to use the bathroom or if they do not feel so good during the school day.

Family Engagement Activities
Here are some activities you can do at home to prepare your child for the first weeks of school....
*Watch videos or read some stories about starting school.
*Talk to your child about school if possible show your child a picture of when you went to school. Talk about what some of the rules might be and about staying safe.
*Practice bathroom hygiene, especially proper hand washing.
