JUNE
✏️Important Dates to Remember✏️ It is hard to believe that the end of the school year has come. Your children have worked very hard this school year and have made great accomplishments! It is time to celebrate all of their hard work!
On Wednesday June 15th PreK 4 will have a Moving Up Celebration at 1:15. The celebration will last approximately 1 hour. It will take place in our outdoor playground (weather permitting).
The children will perform a very brief presentation. After the presentation the children will work on a craft/keepsake with their family members. Each child will be allowed to have two guests attend the celebration.
Friday June 17th - Last Day of School
⭐️Theme for the Month: Unit 10 - Transformation ⭐️ Essential question: What is transformation and how do things change?
Week 1: May 30th - June 3rd, Week 2: June 6th - June 10th
Focus Question: What kinds of change happen in nature?
This week in school we will be learning about and exploring....
*The life cycle of a butterfly and a frog.
*Letter Review - For the last few weeeks of school we will be reviewing all of the letters of the alphabet.
*Adding / Subtracting - practice adding and subtracting simple numbers up to 5
Here are some activities you can do at home to reinforce what your child is learning in school.
Talk about things that change.
Make a weather chart and hang it someplace where your child can draw a simple picture to show the weather each day ...how does the weather change?
Ask your child about the caterpillars that were in class with us. Ask your child how the caterpillars changed?
Look through baby photos with your child. Tell them about when they were born. Talk about the funny things they did as a baby. Ask them to notice things that have changed about the way they look, talk and act now. What can your child do now that he/she couldn’t do as a baby?
Let your child watch as you cook or bake something. How does the food change from before it’s cooked to after?
If you haven’t signed up for SeeSaw yet please do so! Each Monday there will be new activities for your child to work on during the week (optional). This is another great resource for you to help your child reinforce what they are learning in school.
