⭐️Theme for the Month: Unit 9 - Babies⭐️
Essential question: What are babies?
During the month of May we will be learning about BABIES. This is a fun unit where the children will have the opportunity to learn about human babies and animal babies. The children will get to role play with many "baby items" in our dramatic play center. They will continue learning about living things in science, transitioning from plants to our baby unit. We will enjoy a visit with animals from The Nature Company. There are many fun activties we will be doing in class for the baby unit.
Unit 9 Focus Questions:
What do human babies need?
What can I learn about animal babies?
How do babies change?
Unit 9 Foundational Texts:

Does A Kangaroo Have A Mother Too? by Eric Carlie
Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman

Literacy: We will continue to focus on a new letter each week. We only have a few letters left to focus on. We will also begin to put letters together to make words. Please reinforce letter skills at home. Remember that reading to your child can promote important reading readiness skills.
Math:We will continue to follow the Building Blocks curriculum. We will enforce our number skills from 1-10. We will begin to learn how to add and subtract small groups of numbers.
